Kadampa Meditation Centre Australia (KMCA) is the Mother Centre of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU) in Australia. It was established in 2005 to provide a national home for the growing Kadampa Buddhist groups in Western Australia and New South Wales, and to provide a base from which to respond to the increasing interest in Kadampa Buddhism throughout Australia.
In 2006 KMCA moved to its current site, perfectly positioned in 10 acres of lush rainforest, parkland and landscaped gardens nestled in the hills an hour’s drive from the Melbourne CBD.
The Temple is open every day for prayers and personal reflection, and throughout the year we offer a range of classes, courses and retreats suitable for people with all levels of experience and interest. Every year KMC Australia also hosts national and international events for Kadampa Buddhist practitioners in our region.
KMCA presently has accommodation for 20 residents, and a range of accommodation options for visitors, from comfortable singles to dorm and camping.
Everyone is welcome into this special environment.
